Summary:

To supervise the overall operation of the Security Department, identifying and addressing through policy, procedure and practice those issues which affect organizational safety, security and general liability.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervises the day to day security function including parking, reception, patient and visitor control & departmental customer service practices.
2. Performs departmental scheduling maintaining appropriate staffing within budget.
3. Investigates and writes reports on incidents & occurrences of injury, accident, loss or damage to property & general liability incidents.
4. Conducts comprehensive investigations to identify facts and circumstances of employee & visitor injuries as assigned by the Security Director, Safety Officer or Risk Management.
5. Investigates and submits reports on employee misconduct.
6. Insures departmental compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
7. Follows-up on staff daily inspection rounds of the facility insuring security, safety and environmental conditions identified as hazards or regulatory violations are promptly corrected.
8. Prepares work orders as necessary to resolve safety or security risk conditions.
9. Conducts staff meetings, security consultations and orientations related to security.
10. Investigates and resolves customer service issues as assigned by the Security Director. Responsible for shift activity Monday-Friday day shift & evaluates subordinate's performance.
11. Facilities annual mandatory safety & security training. Prepares & processes purchase orders for routine & emergency maintenance of security systems. Facilities &/or performs preparation of department's time & attendance.
12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:

ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE

Other Information:

Required: College level study in or including a Criminal Justice, Communications or related field. Five years security or law enforcement experience. Must speak effectively and persuasively to external and internal customers.
Minimum Experience: five years
Desired: Criminal Justice and/or communication curriculum.

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
