Assists the Safety and Security Leader to manage the Safety and Security program for UnityPoint Health to achieve specific operational, quality, safety, security, service and financial goals while providing a safe and secure environment for visitors, patients, physicians and staff. Assists with the hiring, termination, daily staffing, performance management and staff development while building positive customer relationships and utilizing open communication. Responsible for conducting quality audits with customers and developing improvement strategies for increasing customer satisfaction. Responds to disaster and/or emergencies, both internal and external, while working in collaboration and cooperation with the Safety and Security Leader at UnityPoint Health.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for hiring, training and firing of staff, creating work
schedules and conducting daily and yearly performance evaluations.
- Conduct disciplinary actions as needed.
- Maintain standard operating procedures for the department and
relevant hospital wide standard operating procedures.
- Ensures that policies, practices and procedures are understood and
followed.
- Performs monthly rounding with all team members of his/her
department.
- Verifies that all scheduling and time keeping is performed.
- Has budgetary responsibilities for the department.
- Any other duties as assigned by Safety and Security Leader.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates or bachelors degree in criminal justice, business, emergency management or related field preferred degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of security and/or law enforcement required.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) withint 180 days.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)cerification within 90-days.
- Completion of Advanced De-Escalation-Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) within 90-days.
- IA Mandatory Reporter Training-Adult and Child Abuse within 180 days.
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required.
