Motional's Las Vegas office is located less than 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip at 730 E Pilot Road and is home to one of the largest fleets of self-driving vehicles. The city's grid system of roads and being one of America's "smart cities" allows for extensive research and development testing.
Mission Summary:
The Remote Vehicle Assistance Supervisor engages with the RVA Operations team to ensure daily operations remain running smoothly. Reporting to the RVA Manager, the Supervisor oversees and optimizes the performance of Motional's autonomous vehicles by managing a remote operator team and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of operational protocols. As a front-line leader, the Supervisor is expected to elevate team productivity and foster growth through the implementation of superior operational management systems, processes, and best practices. Emphasizing research and development, commercialization, revenue generation, and product enhancement, the Supervisor will drive efficiency by introducing new tools and technologies, while aligning cost-efficiency initiatives with Motional's values and commitment to a driverless future.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop schedules, assign and monitor work, implement productivity standards, resolve operations problems, and implement new procedures
- Provide technical leadership to the team to include coaching, training and development
- Conduct performance management/reviews, one on ones, and corrective action
- Ensure RVA driverless Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met
- Lead group projects, present daily briefings, and communicate operations needs with stakeholders
- Review data from the RVA toolset, drive logs, and other proprietary tools
- Handle operational escalations and questions from the RVA team
- Escalate issue tickets to engineering and product teams
- Administer training materials and manage efficient learning cycle reviews
- Report training gaps, trends, and tool limitations to the appropriate parties
- Manage direct reports time off and clock punches
- Monitor and report on department performance
- Participate in strategic planning and goal-setting for various projects and working across functions
- Ensure team is up to date/compliant with training
- Shift flexibility/longer hours during heavy testing times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office/G-Suite Applications
- Prior experience in a supervisory/leadership role
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong multitasking/time management skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide critical feedback of a variety of test types
- Desire to work in a fast paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or BS in Engineering/Physics/Science or relevant field
- RVA experience
- Experience creating, reviewing, and assigning tickets in Jira or similar bug tracking software
- 2-3 years of training/development experience
- Experience in the automotive industry or a fleet
- Prior supervisory or management experience
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel; and to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 25 pounds. Requires near/far/depth and color vision to safely assist Autonomous Vehicles and computer screens.
Working Environment:
This role requires the ability to work in an office environment and use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. The Supervisor may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
