Overview Engineering Supervisor – Protection & Control (P&C) for Asplundh Engineering Services (AES). Hybrid in Lewiston, ME, Foxborough, MA, or Boonton, NJ office, but may be fully remote for the right candidate. AES offers opportunities to lead while staying hands-on with meaningful engineering work, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for utility clients.What You'll Do Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of P&C engineers and designersFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementSupport hiring, staffing, and workforce planning effortsReview and approve protection schemes, control schematics, and wiring diagrams for medium- to high-voltage substationsEnsure engineering quality, accuracy, and compliance with utility/customer standards, IEEE, ANSI, and NERC requirementsStay current on industry best practices and cybersecurity requirementsOversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful executionCoordinate with cross-functional teams including Substation Physical, Civil, Structural, Settings, Studies, SCADA, and DraftingServe as a technical liaison between clients, project managers, vendors, and engineering teamsRemain hands-on in engineering design work, including protection & control detailed designs for utility substations, one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications integration, cable sizing/routing, conduit design, equipment specifications, and substation layoutsProvide owner's engineer (OE) support and design review; assist with construction cost estimates and schedulingWhat You Bring 6+ years of relay/protection engineering or related experienceBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyStrong expertise in utility-grade Protection & Control engineeringPreferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one yearExperience with utility P&C standards and proceduresBackground in substation design, relay protection, telecom integration, or planningHands-on experience with manufacturers such as SEL, GE, ABB, Beckwith, and legacy relay systemsExperience using AutoCAD or MicroStationFamiliarity with document control/document management systemsWhat We Offer Competitive compensationMedical, dental & vision coverage (starting on day 1)401(k) with employer contributionPaid time off & company holidaysSafety equipment/PPE for field workCareer growth opportunities within a respected national organizationAbout AES Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) brings over 100 years of expertise to deliver engineering, design, planning, and testing services for transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable infrastructure markets across the U.S.EEO and Accessibility An Equal Opportunity Employer.
