Position Summary: Supervisor Physician Billing Services

This role is hybrid and requires 1 day a week at our Westwood, MA location. This role will focus on the professional billing side supporting our AR Radiology group. This role will have 7 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Organizes and supervises the daily activities of assigned staff through daily work assignments, productivity measuring and quality assurance review.

  1. Oversees and manage productivity requirements and quality assurance metrics for assigned

work, communicating effectively the expectations to assigned staff, with monitoring/measuring on

a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  1. Maintains a thorough knowledge of payer rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relative to

assigned PO function / area.

  1. Assist in development and updates departmental procedures in order to accommodate payer

specific requirements and to expedite payment.

  1. Establish and fosters professional relationships with representatives of payer organizations in order to facilitate appeals of payer decisions; interpret regulation or policy; gather information

pertinent to current or proposed developments.

  1. Works closely with manager, peers and leadership, sharing critical information and statistical

data, and developing strategies that will enhance the functional areas performance and human

resources.

  1. Collaborates with internal resources to facilitate process improvement policies and procedures for

the physician billing department. Maintains compliance with the hospital's billing policies and

procedures. Assists and participates with representatives of the PO technology team and other

hospital departments to ensure that systems meet payer and regulatory billing requirements.

  1. Evaluates, coaches and trains staff for development and performance improvement. Completes

employee performance evaluations accurately and timely in accordance with hospital and

departmental requirements.

  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or

technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views

and issues and mediate fair solutions.

  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems and situations quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Strong knowledge of overall physician billings operations related to healthcare.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School / GED required

Experience: Four years of related physician or hospital billing work experience required.

Preferred: EPIC experience and have previously managed a team before

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
