About the Role:
The Supervisor of Information Governance Digital Forensics is a key member of Latham’s Information Governance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Digital Forensics team, including the forensic examination and collection of electronic data from cloud repositories, file servers, desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and other media. The Supervisor will manage the team’s daily workflow, develop and execute operational plans, ensure the timely completion of department projects, and promote consistently high standards of customer service. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Other key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with members of Technology and Information Governance and Privacy teams on the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of digital forensics collection, processing, and execution of policies and procedures
- Managing, training, and coaching IGTS Digital Forensics team members, and mentoring them in their professional development endeavours.
- Understanding the firm’s systems and software tools and serving as a resource on information governance questions for staff, attorneys, and other colleagues.
- Working closely with Technology teams and Practice Support Services (PSS) to advise on digital forensics capabilities and ensure forensics tools communicate correctly with various electronic repositories
- Advising IG Compliance, Operations, Privacy teams, and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) on digital forensics tools and their capabilities
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of digital forensics policies, standards, and procedures
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

- Possess superior leadership skills, including organizing, planning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making, necessary for effective supervision
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise the work of others to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of information governance, data security, and privacy principles, best practices, and procedures
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree; Five (5) years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Appropriate forensics industry certifications
- A minimum of five (5) years of digital forensics experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Experience within a law firm, preferably
