Please submit resume with application. This position provides direct supervision of electrical operations. The Supervisor III is responsible for overseeing daily electrical activities, assigning and reviewing work, ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations, and providing technical guidance to electrical staff. The successful candidate must possess working knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and practices, and have experience supervising skilled trades personnel in an electrical environment. A valid electrical license is required. Examples of Work Performed: Duties shall include reviewing plans for new construction, remodel, and renovation projects. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, the ability to order necessary materials for the trade department in support of building maintenance, and the ability to create project estimates.

General Description

Performs complex (journey-level) administrative and supervisory work. The Supervisor coordinates activities and personnel. Requires thorough knowledge of management and supervisory procedures. Supervises the work of others. Works under moderate supervision, with latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.

Organizes workflow and ensures that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.

Supervises the work of office to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.

Receives complaints and resolve problems.

Delegates work to employees, tracks progress and provides constructive feedback throughout projects.

Ensures adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertakes disciplinary actions if the need arises.

Helps employees understand performance targets and goals.

Serves as a link between subordinates and upper management.

Conducts employees probationary or annual performance evaluations.

Trains or ensures that workers are properly trained for their specific roles.

Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of assigned activities.

Establishes program goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university in a related field.

  • Two (2) years of experience in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of education.

Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Certificates, Licenses and Registration:

Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license.

Must be able to be insured by the County's insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures involved in providing services and of applicable rules, regulations, and policies, as well as related legislative and legal practices and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively, and to handle high level administrative issues, to assign and/or supervise the work of others.

Bilingual (Spanish and English) with the ability to converse fluently in both languages.
