Job Description and Duties

Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

Under the general direction of the Manager II (Branch Chief), the incumbent provides leadership and oversight for departmental procurement policy, procedures, and legislative coordination related to contracts and purchasing. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies while meeting program needs efficiently. This position oversees supervisors, complex procurements, policy development, and strategic initiatives to support the department's operations.

This CDFA work location is near restaurants, coffee shops, and a farmer's market. We are within walking distance to light rail/public transportation, across the street from beautiful Capitol Park, and two miles from Downtown Commons (DOCO).

Working Conditions

The duties of this position are primarily conducted indoors. Incumbent works in an office setting with various levels of personnel. The office is equipped with standard office tools including a desk, ergonomic chair, cell phone with voicemail, computer, and file cabinets.

This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CDFA and based on the current telework policy. While the CDFA supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Department Information

The Departmental Services Branch (Branch) within the Administrative Services Division is responsible for all facets of CDFA's business operations, such as purchasing, contracting, leasing, state-owned facilities, property, assets, fleet, mailroom, records retention, and building security.
