JOB DESCRIPTION:

+ This position supports and coordinates clinic, physician and hospital revenue cycle functions that includes Deficiency Management, Patient Identity, Data Integrity, Release of information, Vital Records and Health Information Management (HIM Operations. + Provides recommendations to optimize resources aligning them with best-in-class performance metrics in specific categories of revenue cycle HIM (productivity, compliance, accuracy, effectiveness, timeliness, and efficiency). + Responsible for meeting or exceeding operational workflows, productivity and results standards related to the above functions. + Coordinates and aligns the resources deployed to revenue cycle functions across the clinical, physician and hospital specialties in an effort to build consistency of workflows and optimize resource usage. + The position also organizes, manages, and monitors the performance productivity of HIM and revenue cycle teams. + Supervises staff, providing work assignments, performance feedback and corrective action if necessary. + Assist in Hiring process and trains new employees. + Attends educations in-services as appropriate. + Supervises daily revenue cycle and HIM operations in assigned clinical, physician and hospital specialties and monitors revenue cycle and HIM metrics for area of responsibility. + Provides data and reports as required by management. + Trains staff as appropriate on revenue cycle activities, record completion, chart corrections, patient merges, data integrity, billing and reimbursement practices. + Act as a subject matter expert in area of responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High School diploma or equivalent and with a minimum of four (4) years of revenue cycle experience, preferably in HIM and revenue cycle management;

PREFERRED SKILLS:

+ Professional Certification in revenue cycle or a RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, CEHRS, or CHDA credential is preferred; EPIC EMR experience preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the workday (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste. chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
