Job Summary
The Grounds and Landscaping Supervisor for PowerWorks (PWI) assist the Supervisor responsible for assigned grounds maintenance staff while ensuring all assigned facilities and grounds meet contract requirements. He or she ensures that all grounds and landscaping functions for the assigned locations are mandated by the PWI contract. The Grounds and Landscaping Supervisor focus is aimed towards guaranteeing the standards for quality of services are met by regularly conducting quality assurance and inspection checks per the specifications of the given contract. All leadership duties performed by the Grounds and Landscaping Supervisor are executed in conjunction with the duties of the designated location per the given contract. Directs and coordinates activities of the grounds maintenance service contracts to ensure contract goals are accomplished per contract requirements. Establish a working relationship with base personnel to permit exchanges of information that can be used to increase customer satisfaction and the performance of a contract.
Essential Job Duties
· Establish a work schedule to ensure grounds maintenance contract requirements are completed.
· Assign and distribute work teams to designated work locations.
· Maintain staff schedules and approve time in time management system on daily basis.
· Ensure quality control practices are being utilized and are in place.
· Supervise, train, and oversee grounds maintenance and landscaping personnel.
· Communicate with and maintain a strong working relationship with customers.
· Ensure standards for quality of services are met and conduct quality assurance and inspection checks a s specified in the quality control plan.
· Maintain system and monitor usage of equipment, tools, and supplies inventory and storage.
· Repair and maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure an optimal level of reliability and performance.
· Ensure routine maintenance is performed as specified by the manufacturer(s) on all equipment.
· Ensure equipment is properly maintained, operational, clean, and stored at the end of the shift.
· Ensure that before and after operator maintenance is performed on all equipment.
· Promotes safety awareness among employees and clients. Ensures that hazardous working conditions are avoided.
· Maintain vendor relationship(s), order supplies as required, shop for supplies, and run errands as needed.
· Maintain a system for security and loss prevention.
· Drive to worksites to supervise team members.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
+ Graduation from high school or equivalent required some college or technical school preferred.
+ Prior leadership experience is required.
+ Experience working with disabled persons is helpful.
+ Experience with implementing policies and guidelines and initiating discipline, counseling, and motivation preferred.
+ Prior experience working 1+ year(s) within ground and landscaping is highly recommended.
+ Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, or ability to obtain within 1 year
+ Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
