Oversees and directs all day-to-day operations of eye services department, including supervision of all eye services staff. Day to day operations include, but not limited to, rooming patients, selling/dispensing glasses, providing customer service, appointment scheduling, daily cash flow and deposits and daily reporting.Job Description
Works with leadership to address staffing issues, budget considerations, and employee satisfaction and compliance issues. Displays professionalism and promotes an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. Understands the use of multi-line telephone, computer, copier, fax machine, scanner and webcam, as appropriate. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. May have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel. Responsible for department financial performance and budgeting processes. Responsibilities may expand into meeting with frame representatives, ordering and supply management of new inventory, optical instrument services, as well as optical instrument repairs. Ability to fill in and perform all staffing responsibilities as needed and directed by leadership. May coordinate provider schedule and considered a liaison between providers and staff. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving. Understands accounting, budgeting and analyzing projects and data. Demonstrates understanding of services, procedures and opening/end of day processes. Distributes work in areas of responsibility in order to achieve department/clinic goals. Emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, positive attitude, productivity and completion of work within established periods. Demonstrates leadership to employees, serving as a role model, and encouraging vision and change projects. Understands the critical components associated and required to achieve intended results and ability to assist in hiring, selection, retaining, and leveraging talent. Collaborates and provides feedback in measuring employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members. Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones.Qualifications
