UPMC Passavant, an ANCC Magnet-designated facility, is seeking a Full-Time Supervisor to join our team at our McCandless location.

Shift Details:

  • Primarily 1st shift
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Shifts will be further discussed during the interview.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure patient room discharges are completed within one hour of assignment.

  • Provide responsive, high-quality service while maintaining a positive, professional image with patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Maintain daily communication with nursing leaders and unit staff to address needs and improve operations.

  • Supervise and support Environmental Services team members, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and according to schedule.

  • Monitor performance, provide coaching and feedback, and assist with corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure adequate staffing, coordinate shift coverage, and start shifts on time.

  • Maintain proper inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is clean, functional, and well-maintained

  • Submit maintenance work orders as needed.

  • Conduct regular inspections (minimum of 5 daily and complete quality checks, including auditing at least 10% of discharges.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper labeling and handling of chemicals.

  • Complete required training, including departmental in-services and supervisor development programs.

  • Manage administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, documentation, employee records, and sign-in preparation.

  • Approve PTO in accordance with departmental guidelines.

  • Serve as a liaison across shifts to ensure clear, consistent communication.

  • Respond effectively to high-pressure situations, emergencies, and drills.

  • Participate in on-call responsibilities

  • HS Diploma/GED required

  • 3-years relevant experience required

  • 1-year relevant leadership experience required

  • Knowledge and familiarity with chemical use and dilution rates.

  • Basic computer knowledge to include familiarity with MS Office.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
