Shadyside Hospital is currently hiring a full-time EVS Supervisor. Make an impact where cleanliness, care, and teamwork matter most.

The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position provides daily leadership to EVS team members while partnering closely with clinical leaders to support excellent patient care.

What Youll Do

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of Lead Housekeepers, Housekeepers, and Floor & Project Technicians.
  • Ensure timely cleaning of assigned areas, including completing discharge cleans within one hour of assignment.
  • Assign work, monitor coverage, and inspect completed tasks to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for nursing leadership and unit staff to identify needs and service opportunities.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, representing the department positively at all times.
  • Ensure supplies, equipment, and chemicals are stocked, properly labeled, and maintained in good working order.
  • Complete at least five daily quality inspections using provided technology (Pocket PC Technology).
  • Submit and track work orders for maintenance and equipment repairs.
  • Carry and answer 24 hour pager.
  • Coach employees through recognition, feedback, and corrective action in partnership with the Operations Manager.
  • Approve PTO requests and ensure consistent staffing coverage across shifts.
  • Act as a liaison between shifts to support clear communication and continuity.
  • Respond to internal and external emergencies, including disasters and fire drills, as needed.
  • Participate in required training, hospital initiatives, and complete the Supervisor Development Program.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED required.
  • 3 years relevant experience required.
  • 1-year relevant leadership experience required (2 years preferred).
  • Knowledge and familiarity with chemical use and dilution rates.
  • Basic computer knowledge to include familiarity with MS Office.
  • Floor Care experience preferred.
