Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, andinternal equity considerations. As the Supervisor ofDiagnostic Medical Sonography, you will workclosely with radiology management and radiologists to supervise and perform technical procedures in the Ultrasound Department. Coordinates daily workflow to accommodate diagnostic, interventional and emergent examinations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisorsstaff to ensure the quality of work. Interviews and recommendations for hiring quality staff according to Human ResourcePolicies. Schedules staff to ensure coverage of the work area. Determines the staffing needs, workmethodsand performance standards. Monitors the job performance of each employeedemonstratedby currentobservation and notes in the employee record. Complies with department policies in authorizing changes in the assigned employee schedules. Completesall employee reports and records according to establishedtimeframes. Initiates counseling and disciplinary action ina timelyand supportivemanner. Performs all duties of staff technologist asrequiredand maintainscompetencyin all areas of the department. Demonstrates the knowledge andspecial skillsnecessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served inradiology (neonate,pediatric,adolescent,adultandgeriatric). Maintainsequipment and reports problems promptly. Maintains records and reports, and collects statistics for administrative andregulatorypurposes. Checks the quality control of materials and equipment to be used on a dailybasis. Conducts orientation of new employees according to the department orientationchecklist. Assists staff in developing goals andobjectivesfor individual growth anddevelopment. Conducts competency evaluations to ensure continuedproficiencyof staffin regard to the special needs and behaviors of specific age groups. Evaluatesnew products and equipment to improve service.Submits budget requests by April 1st. EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE: Required: Graduate of a recognized, approved American MedicalAssociation Council of Education program in UltrasoundTechnology. Bachelors Degreepreferred. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers Three years appropriate skills in sonography. Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communicationwith medical and technicalpersonnel; abilityto deal efficientlyand courteously with all hospital personnel.
