Job Title: Custodial Operations Supervisor Pay Grade: 8/EXEMPT

Reports To: Director / AD of Operations

Dept/Operations: EVS (Environmental Services) / District-Wide

Pay Grade: 8/EXEMPT

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Environmental Services Area Supervisor provides the highest standards of cleanliness and services to all District facilities by inspecting, problem solving in a timely manner, consistent communication, training, coordinating work/activities, providing positive motivation, and ensuring accountability of self and all assigned staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma required / bachelor's degree, preferred Valid Texas driver's license required

Two years of (EVS) Leadership experience, preferred 1-3 years of supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • English and Spanish speaking preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Ability to effectively utilize Outlook mail, Word, Excel, Power point, Google maps, Google drive, Inspection tools Must have complete understanding of EVS Operations, equipment uses, and procedures
  • Ability to work without direct supervision Demonstrate strong organizational capabilities
  • Must have strong communication & leadership skills Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills Ability to lift 45 pounds without assistance

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Maintain a high-level and high-quality EVS program. The results will be safe, clean, and healthy buildings.
  • Each area supervisor will maintain & monitor all school maps, cleaning logs for all shifts, and make adjustments as needed. Perform weekly building inspections as directed by your director/correct below standard findings with follow-up inspections. Each Area Supervisor will perform monthly EVS Building Inspections/Follow Up Documentation with their campus leaders. Ensure that all staff receive new employee training and annual Vector refresher training.
  • Promote/support the District Accident Prevention Program and hold employees accountable if they fail to follow safety guidelines. Support and communicate District/Department decisions in a positive manner.
  • Convey a positive, service-minded attitude to all District students, staff, and visitors. Coordinate project work, special assignments, and use of District facilities program. Submit all required paperwork and complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Handle all requests with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure that all entries and exits of district buildings are always secure. Assist with monthly employee and supervisory meetings.
  • Assign department staff in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and high morale among staff.
  • Be flexible and willing to perform any additional tasks as assigned by the director or assistant director. Ability to use Time Clock Manager Program
  • Must be able to utilize and manage the Honor Training Program
  • Monitor FSDirect and submit all work orders needed to maintain safe and functional facilities.
  • Perform weekly, joint rounds to ensure all machines are cleaned, working properly, and are being utilized as scheduled Ensure equipment log is being monitored & utilized.
  • Office/ Field work should be 70/30 of the work week.
  • Complete 10 inspections per building per month utilizing the Buckeye Inspection Software.
  • Check in person with the principal, or assistant principal for each school you oversee to ensure operational needs are being met. Ensure that all employees are held accountable and follow the district/departmental employee handbook.
  • Monitor all supplies, maintain adequate par levels, and must communicate with the Director for additional needs. Ensure that the employees are using the cleaning chemicals as instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Address all phone calls before and after normal work hours.
  • Follow up on any employee safety accidents during and after work hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Strenuous walking, standing and/or climbing; heavy lifting and/or carrying; pushing, reaching, kneeling, repeated bending and stooping. Work outside/inside; exposure to hot/cold temperatures; excessive humidity; exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders, work alone, work with groups, and wear personal protective equipment.
