The Accounting Section at the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts sits at the center of a complex, high-stakes operation-supporting the financial integrity of infrastructure that millions of residents depend on every day. As Supervising Accountant, youll make sure that work is sound, accurate, and audit-ready while also leading a team youre expected to grow into the sections next generation of leaders. This is a role for someone who makes things better: the Accounting Section has a dedicated process improvement group and a genuine appetite for smarter operations, and were actively looking for the right places to put emerging tools like AI to work. That means real productivity gains, handled with judgment-sensitive data protected, outputs verified, risks understood. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: To exercise supervision and technical direction over an accounting group comprised of professional accountant positions and clerical support staff.

Evaluate performance. provide coaching and address deficiencies
Analyze accounting processes and recommend improvements

RETIREMENT
COMPENSATION
Employees receive annual salary increases until reaching step 5 of the salary range and are provided with opportunities to promote. Cost of living adjustments are implemented annually in accordance with labor agreements.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
Employees may be eligible for tuition reimbursement for approved accredited course work.
STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT REIMBURSEMENT
For some bargaining units, the Districts will provide student loan payment reimbursements for principal or interest paid by the employee on a qualified education loan incurred by the employee for the education of the employee. The annual maximum reimbursement is $5,250 and the lifetime reimbursement limit is $21,000.
