Qualifications
• Minimum 8–10 years of commercial construction experience, including experience as a Superintendent overseeing field operations.
• Proven experience managing commercial tenant improvement, renovation, occupied space, healthcare, life science, corporate office, or ground-up construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, sequencing, and quality control.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Thorough knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and digital field reporting platforms.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams and clients.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all day-to-day field operations and oversee project execution from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules, look-ahead plans, and daily site activities in collaboration with the project team.
• Enforce and promote a strong culture of safety, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements.
• Conduct regular site walks to monitor quality, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, architects, consultants, and trade partners throughout the construction process.
• Review construction documents and identify conflicts, constructability concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, material storage, and jobsite organization.
• Lead project meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety meetings.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Hillhouse's quality standards.
