Position Overview: Xcelente Trucking & Logistics Training Center is seeking motivated and detail-oriented youth interns for a Summer Freight Dispatcher Internship. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of transportation and logistics. Interns will learn about freight dispatching. Overview of the Trucking & Logistics Industry.

• Role of a Freight Dispatcher
• Types of Freight and Equipment (Dry Van, Flatbed, Reefer, etc.)
• Key Players: Shippers, Carriers, Brokers, Drivers

Key Responsibilities: Assist with scheduling and dispatching trucks to appropriate locations

• Track shipments and update logs and records
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates and directions
• Enter and verify data in dispatch and tracking systems
• Support dispatchers with administrative and customer service tasks
• Learning terminology, tools, and best practices

Qualifications:

• High school student or recent graduate (ages 16–24 preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet navigation)
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
• Interest in logistics, trucking, or transportation industries
