Summer Site Manager
Terms of Employment: Tentatively June 2nd - August 1st. Subject to change due to MISD School Calendar
Salary/Pay Grade: Hourly Rate of $18.00 per hour
Position Reports to: Director of Childcare Services
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree preferred • Minimum of 2 years experience managing staff and/or previous leadership experience required • Minimum of 2 years experience working with school-age children in a day camp or similar setting • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage daily operations of the on-site summer program, including staff supervision and overall schedule of activities • Assist in pre-camp planning and organization • Structure and coordinate pre-summer and ongoing training for summer staff • Assist in selecting, supervising and evaluating camp staff • Effectively communicate and maintain positive relations with parents, community partners, and other outside organizations prior to and throughout the summer • Monitor the health and safety of all campers and staff • Maintain camp records to ensure compliance with licensing standards • Ensure the program maintains the proper staff-to-child ratio as outlined in the program standards • Ensure maintenance and appropriate use of all building facilities, resources, supplies, and equipment with care and pride; including organization, cleanliness, and daily set-up/take-down of the program area • Actively support staff during activities, discipline, and planning • Demonstrate good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents, and possess the ability to make sound decisions • Provide excellent customer service support to children, parents, colleagues, campus staff, community members, and visitors. Communicate clearly and professionally with parents in a positive manner about their children and the program • Attend and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (ie. staff development, curriculum development, trainings, leadership meetings) • Perform other duties as assigned
