General Summary: An Upward Bound Mentor will be a role model for all participants of the Upward Bound Program. As a mentor, one must maintain an academic minimum GPA of 2.5. The mentor must meet the college dress code at all times, provide leadership and administrative support, assist academic instructors by providing one on one tutorial service, and assist program Administrative Assistant with inputting of all program data and upkeep of students' records. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Program Director Serve as a mentor for program participants. Provide tutoring as appropriate.Chaperon off-campus / trips. Provide assistance during on and off campus program activities including Study Hall.Provide assistance with on-campus activities. Facilitate program activities as directed.Perform other program related duties as assigned.Ensure the safety of Upward Bound students in the dormitory and hotels while on trips,Adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. Follow Edward Waters University / Upward Bound Dress Code. Behavioral Expectations: Customer Service Orientated. Proactively develops student's relationships by making effort to listen to and understand the student's (both internally and externally); anticipates and provide solutions to student's needs; giving high priority to student's satisfaction.
