Seasonal / Temporary Summer Employment

Employment for this position will begin on June 1, 2026, and end on July 31, 2026.

Primary Purpose

Assist the maintenance and custodial departments with summer cleaning, repair, setup, moving, and campus preparation projects to ensure district facilities are clean, safe, organized, and ready for the upcoming school year.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment and basic hand tools preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting, and trash removal
  • Deep clean classrooms, offices, cafeterias, restrooms, gyms, and other district facilities
  • Move furniture, desks, tables, filing cabinets, and classroom equipment from one area or campus to another
  • Assist with classroom setup and organization for the upcoming school year
  • Help with floor care projects including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning
  • Assist with painting, minor repairs, and maintenance projects as assigned
  • Clean windows, walls, lockers, and other surfaces
  • Help load, unload, and organize supplies, equipment, and storage areas
  • Set up and take down furniture and equipment for summer activities and events
  • Follow all district safety procedures and proper equipment usage guidelines
  • Report maintenance concerns, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working on district property
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support district operations and campus needs

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy items
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work for extended periods
  • Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and tools

Work Environment

Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, dust, and other seasonal conditions.
