Summer Custodial Worker

Position Title: Substitute and/or Summer Custodian

Classification: Substitute/Summer Custodian

Relationships: Reports to shift supervisor

Job Goal

Under the direction of the shift supervisor, assigned functions are performed to ensure that the educational facility is in a safe, healthy, and clean condition.

General Responsibilities

Reports to work on a regular basis and is absent only for reasons of illness, emergency or other approved leaves.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Keep assigned areas in the safest possible condition at all times.
• Have the well being of the students, employees, and visitors in mind at all times.
• Take immediate and appropriate action related to any unsafe conditions that may exist in the building by eliminating the problem or reporting it to their lead person or supervisor.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform all cleaning tasks associated with assigned area.
• Work cooperatively with building staff in setting up for various building uses.
• Replenish supplies (paper, soap, etc.) as needed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance duties and painting as needed
• Perform outside grounds keeping duties including but not limited to mowing, trimming, and weeding as needed.

Physical Demands of Essential Functions

Frequently - Including but not limited to; climbing, squatting and reaching.

Constantly - Including but not limited to; bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, reaching, grasping and walking.

Some or all movements may be repetitive and include overhead work.

Lifting 0-50 pounds: Frequently

Lifting over 50 pounds: Occasionally

Reaching 90 degrees: Constantly

Reaching 180 degrees: Frequently
