2026 Summer Camp Denver Camp Counselors

Camp Counselor provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Camp Counselor is responsible for supervising campers and ensuring their safety and general well-being and keeping campers engaged during the camp.

Camp Counselors are enthusiastic, cheerful, upbeat, and encouraging.

Available Positions

• Junior Camp Counselor Part Time or Full Time Hours Assists in leading a group of campers through daily activities. Creates a positive supportive environment while helping the day run smoothly and safely. High School staff Counselors are onsite only. Reports directly to Lead Camp Counselor.

• Camp Counselor Preferably Full Time Hours Leads a group of campers through daily activities and field trips. Creates a positive supportive environment while helping the day run smoothly and safely. Reports directly to Lead Camp Counselor.

• Lead Camp Counselor Full Time Hours Guides campers during activities and trips. Manages behavior and helps keep schedules organized and fun. Supports and guides co-counselor. Reports directly to the Group Activity Coordinator.

Camp Counselor Opener or Closer part-time morning or afternoon hours or a split shift open/close Supports camp operations by assisting with morning opening routines and/or end-of-day closing procedures, helping ensure a smooth start and finish to each camp day. This is an excellent part-time position with options to work an opening shift, a closing shift, or a split open/close shift.

Closing Coordinator One position available Part-time afternoon hours possibility of split shift morning/afternoon for more hours Leads the closing staff and campers onsite from 2 pm to 6:30 pm. Helps keep camp running smoothly by supporting counselors, guiding groups, and making sure closing procedures run smoothly. Reports directly to the Summer Program Director.

Bus Driver Licensure Counselors who hold the required bus licensure help transport campers and staff to and from camp on scheduled field trips. They create a calm, positive environment while maintaining full attention to safety and transportation procedures. Reports directly to Camp Leadership.

Camp Visual Storyteller Part Time to Full Time Hours Looking for someone who loves capturing moments, connecting with campers, and being present in the program. This role is responsible for capturing photo and video content, managing and updating camp media, and creating and posting engaging social media content that highlights the camp experience.

Education & Experience High School Education Required. Experience in working with elementary and/or middle school age children is preferred. Bus Driving Certification is a real plus.

Required Abilities & Skills Ability to place camper engagement as our first priority. Ability to lead a group of campers. Ability to adapt and keep campers active. Ability to ensure camper safety both onsite and offsite. Possess organizational skills in helping to guide and handle daily planned activities both onsite and offsite. Possess a positive approach in dealing with campers, parents, and co-workers.

Summer Day Camp General Information

Our Summer Day camp runs from June 1st through July 28 for 7 and a half weeks. Camp is closed the week of July 6 through July 10th in observance of Independence Day. All Camp Counselors would be working with our entire Summer Day Camp population with a portion of each day leading a dedicated camp age group. Field Trips are a big part of our Camp but we also include onsite activities as well. Prefer candidates looking for full-time summer employment but will consider part-time staff. Pre-Camp Training Meetings and CPR Training will be scheduled prior to beginning of camp and attendance would be required.
