Job Summary/Objective:
The SUD Clinician provides assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing substance use disorders. This role delivers clinically appropriate services, coordinates care across internal teams and community partners, and ensures timely documentation and compliance with agency, state, and funding-source requirements. The clinician supports customers through person-centered treatment, facilitates access to needed resources, and collaborates with providers to promote continuity of care and successful recovery outcomes.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Utilizes evidence-based treatments within their scope of practice.
- Acts as a liaison within the community to ensure continuum of care and support for customers.
- May act as a clinical resource for agency teams and conduct educational presentations.
- Treatment is provided within clinic settings and may occur within community settings (including jail).
- Therapeutic supports are provided as outlined in the individualized plan of service based on person-centered planning and utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Maintains record compliance within agency requirements and standard utilizing electronic/hard copy record formats.
- Shall ensure compliance and participation with competency improvement activities including, but not limited to, credentialing, continuing education (per licensure requirements or minimum of 24 hours per year of clinically based trainings), implementation of evidence-based practices, peer review attendance, and professional improvement practices.
- Participates in corporate quality improvement and problem-solving activities. Maintains confidentiality and privacy within MDHHS, state and federal guidelines.
- Utilizes knowledge of CARF, CMS, MDHHS and Managed Care standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with licensure or licensure eligibility in the State of Michigan as a Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW); Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP/ LLP); Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC).
- Behavioral health case management experience required.
- Good organizational, verbal/written communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed and resourceful.
- One year of computer experience – Word, Excel, and electronic medical record software preferred.
