JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Success Coach will work closely with students to foster the development of skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to academic success. This role involves providing individualized support to help students overcome academic challenges and achieve their educational goals.

Essential Duties Summary
- Individualized Coaching: Meet with students one-on-one to identify and address obstacles impeding academic success. Assist students in developing self-efficacy, self-regulation, and ownership of their academic progress. Assist in designing programs for goal setting, study skill development and additional supportive workshops, group coaching and other key developmental initiatives.
- Skill Development: Help students develop and implement effective learning strategies, study skills, time management, and organizational techniques tailored to their course materials.
- Monitoring Progress: Maintain and monitor a caseload of students, including first-time college students, probationary students, and transfer students. Conduct regular check-ins, scheduled meetings, proactive outreach, and communication to track and accelerate academic progress.
- Referral and Collaboration: Refer students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources. Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, input, analyze, and interpret data related to student progress and program effectiveness.
- Documentation and Reporting: maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, student progress, and areas of improvement.
- Program Development: Create and develop relevant course materials for workshops and other programming aimed at enhancing student success. Participate in university activities such as orientation and summer bridge programs.

Bachelor's degree.
Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver's License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Policies, procedures, practices and equipment.
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Skill in:
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
- Multitasking and time management.
- Both verbal and written communication.
Ability to:
- Prepare detailed reports.
- Work independently.
Work Experience
- Three (3) years to five (5) years of related experience. Preferably working with students in an academic setting.
- Teaching experience and experience working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.
Working/Environmental Conditions
- Prolonged standing and/or walking.
- Handling light weight objects.
- Using or carrying equipment.
