Requirements Under general supervision to assist a certificated teacher in the education training caretaking and supervision of severely disabled emotionally disturbed and/or physically disabled students to assist in the implementation of self-help social and community skills. Incumbents perform a variety of duties both in and out of the classroom and play a major role in caring for the physical needs of the students and perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the instructional program. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from an assigned administrator and work on a day-to-day basis with a certificated teacher within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school. Proof of graduation required; enclose or attach high school diploma or equivalent. Must take and pass proficiency test if graduated high school prior to June 1981.
