The Instructional Assistant I supports certificated teachers by assisting with instruction to individuals or small groups, monitoring student progress, and maintaining classroom records.
- Implement school policies, prepare lessons, administer and score tests, and assist with language proficiency assessments.
- Monitor student behavior, provide guidance, and support classroom activities, including labs, lunch, and playground supervision.
- Perform clerical duties such as organizing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining records.
- Communicate with parents, participate in team meetings, and support health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain professionalism, incorporate technology, and adhere to ethical standards.
Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D., with some experience working with children or college credits, and ability to follow directions and work cooperatively.
