Job Summary

The Substitute Clerical Staff provides temporary administrative and office support in the absence of regular staff. This role ensures that daily operations continue smoothly by performing a variety of clerical tasks, maintaining organization, and supporting staff, students, or customers as needed. Key Responsibilities: Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate personnel Greet visitors and provide general assistance or information Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and files Sort, distribute, and prepare mail and documents Operate standard office equipment (copiers, printers, fax machines) Assist with scheduling, appointments, and calendar management Support staff with basic administrative tasks and projects Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Follow established procedures and workplace policies Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous clerical or administrative experience preferred Basic computer skills (e.g., word processing, email, spreadsheets) Strong organizational and time-management skills Good communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and tasks Work Conditions: Temporary, on-call, or as-needed basis May work in various departments or locations Standard office environment Preferred Skills (Optional): Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) Experience working in schools, offices, or customer service settings
