Requirements / Qualifications
Under direction, follows an assigned schedule in the performance of custodial duties required to maintain rooms, office space, equipment, buildings, and adjacent areas in a clean, orderly, and secure manner. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning various types of surfaces and furniture. Safety practices related to cleaning methods, procedures, and equipment. Common safety hazards found in and around buildings. Ability to: Perform moderately heavy to heavy manual labor. Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, and tools. Maintain work schedules and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Work independently with minimal supervision. Exercise sound judgment in emergency and safety-related situations. Operate custodial equipment and tools safely and effectively. Appreciate and respect human diversity while maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain positive working relationships. Comply with the District s customer service standards. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and abilities listed above. Applicants must possess sufficient reading and writing skills necessary for successful job performance. WORKING CONDITIONS: School environment. Physical Requirements: Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects, typically up to 60 pounds.
