Qualifications:
Technology Skills and Previous District Office expereince highly preferred.
- Certification from a secretarial school, secretarial coursework in high school or comparable secretarial experience
- High School Diploma
- Must have proficient computer skills; proficient skill in Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of public school operations and organization, budget preparations, and the negotiations process is a must; strong organizational and analytical skills are essential
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and through written expression
- Completes required medical review and immunizations
- Passes required criminal history background check
- Provides proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident status

Performance Responsibilities:
- Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies
- Communicates professionally within the school community
- Prepares, assembles, and distributes (if applicable) all confidential material needed for the agenda, committee meetings, application process, board elections, and/or contract negotiations
- Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and converts to usable form
- Assists administrator with preparation of confidential reports and presentations
- Screens personal and telephone requests of various departments and members of the public and refers them to the proper administrator for resolution
- Follows-up on all matters requiring administrator's attention
- Performs general office duties typical of a private secretary - e.g., filing, correspondence, appointment calendar, etc.
- Orders and maintains supplies as needed
- Takes and transcribes dictation of various types, as required, including Board minutes (if applicable)
- Maintains good public relations with all staff members and the general public.
- Performs other similar duties as assigned and appropriate to the office
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or his/her designees
Environmental Demands:
- Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions
- Exposure to both heated/air conditioned and non-climate controlled environments
- Exposure to a building in which a variety of chemical substances are used for cleaning, instruction, and/or operation of equipment
- Potential exposure to a variety of childhood and adult illnesses
- Exposure to a workplace that is usually quiet, but can be noisy at times
