General Summary
COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
+ Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
+ Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
+ Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
+ Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
+ Documents processes and build techniques
+ Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
+ Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
+ Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
+ May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
+ Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
+ May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage

Required SkillsRequired Experience
Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum of 2 years of related experience
+ Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical components
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematic blueprints
+ Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required
+ Willing and able to travel with UAS Operations and Training teams up to 10% (as needed)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience operating within a DoD environment
+ Familiarity with mechanical systems and parts compliance requirements
+ Experience with sUAS design, prototyping, and assembly is a plus
+ Mission Planner, Q Ground Control, PX4 and Arduopilot experience
