Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a university educator preparation program or an approved alternative certification program (ACP);
- Must be officially assigned by the university or ACP program to complete a student teaching placement with Waller ISD;
- Must provide a current driver's license, student photo ID, or other state/government-issued photo identification;
- Must successfully complete the district's background review process, including required fingerprinting, at the applicant's expense;
- Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with federal requirements.
- Must comply with all district confidentiality, safety, and supervision requirements while on district property.
Working Conditions:
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, staff, and campus operations at all times during the student teaching experience.
- Comply with all district and campus procedures, guidelines, and directions related to student teaching assignments.
- Professional dress is required at all times during the student teaching assignment, consistent with campus expectations.
- Student teachers will coordinate with campus staff regarding placement details and semester expectations.
- Use of cell phones or personal electronic devices during instructional time is limited and must comply with campus and district expectations.
- Demonstrate respect for the instructional environment and support the district's primary mission of educating students and serving families.
- Student teachers remain under the supervision of certified district personnel and must not assume independent responsibility for instruction or student supervision unless authorized by the EPP and district.
TERMS: Valid for one semester only.

- Punctuality: Report to and depart from the campus according to district, campus, and university/EPP requirements.
- Attendance: Student teachers are required to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with university EPP requirements and campus expectations. Any absence or tardiness must be reported promptly to the campus and cooperating teacher.
Working Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and standard instructional equipment; may include specialized equipment such as an AED (as applicable to placement).
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent walking throughout campus.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (generally under 15 pounds), including instructional materials and classroom supplies.
Environment: Work performed inside and occasionally outside; exposure to typical school-related noise levels.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work in a dynamic instructional environment that may include varying schedules and responsibilities.
