McFarland School District is seeking highly dynamic candidates to fill an opening for an Educational Assistant with a focus on Student Support and Lunch/Recess Lead Supervisor beginning in the 2026-27 school year. What Your Day Will Look Like:

This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive school environment for all middle school students. This position leads supervision efforts during lunch and recess across grades 6-8 while providing direct, day-to-day support to students and staff. The role emphasizes proactive supervision, responsive behavior support, and flexible assistance with student needs throughout the school day.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution-focused when responding to student behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise large groups in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Positive, flexible, and professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating self-starter initiative
  • Ability to be on their feet and walk the building for extended periods
  • Basic clerical, computer, and technology skills

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead supervision of lunch and recess for grades 6-8, ensuring a safe and structured environment
  • Coordinate and support supervisors and provide additional supervision as assigned
  • Respond to student behaviors using proactive, restorative approaches, including breaks and de-escalation
  • Build positive relationships with students and reinforce school-wide expectations in collaboration with staff
  • Provide coverage for supervision needs, including lunch, recess, advisory, and make-up testing
  • Support daily operations such as delivering passes/materials and assisting with events and rehearsals
  • Assist with PBIS implementation by reinforcing expectations and supporting school climate initiatives
  • Complete administrative tasks, including tracking behavior data, organizing schedules/materials, and supporting school-wide logistics and projects
