Questrom School of Business is seeking qualified applicants to join our growing team of student success professionals for the Online MBA program. The Student Success Specialist will be responsible for monitoring students' academic progress, providing guidance in determining students' interests and objectives, and helping students to locate and navigate the resources they need to successfully complete their degree programs. In addition, Student Success Specialists execute events and programs to foster community throughout the program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive academic advisement to a portfolio of Online MBA students.
- Help assigned students to plan and map out their path to degree completion.
- Participate in outreach efforts to re-enroll students each semester.
- Monitor student progress in order to intervene, guide, and recommend solutions to academic difficulties.
- Maintain current knowledge of prerequisites, graduation requirements, university procedures, policies, and other student services.
- Collect retention-related student data for periodic reports.
- Plan and execute in-person and virtual events to build community throughout the program.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred.
- 3 years of experience, specifically advising experience with online students preferred.
- Strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Customer service orientation with desire to help others succeed in reaching their goals.
- Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with students.
- Experience with observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources, and keeping records in CRM (Salesforce preferred) •Strong computer skills and ability to quickly adapt to new technology.
- Motivation for delivering empathetic, compassionate, consistent, accurate, developmental, student-focused, appreciative, and honest advising.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
- The successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to and relevant ability in competently working with diverse student populations.
