Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. In this dynamic role, you"ll play a vital part in supporting students from recruitment through graduation. Working collaboratively across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Services, you"ll help create a seamless student experience by supporting enrollment operations, coordinating student success initiatives, maintaining accurate academic records, and leveraging
technology to improve outcomes.

What You"ll Do
Recruitment and Retention
- Support recruitment initiatives, including outreach, communication, and engagement with prospective students, working with the Pell Boost Liaison.
- Implement retention strategies by monitoring student progress and assisting with early intervention efforts. Will run D/F/W lists and follow up with academic advisors and students as needed.
Student Records and Registrar Support
- Assist the Registrar with reporting and compliance tasks, including submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Review and resolve CRT error reports to ensure data accuracy and student enrollment integrity.
- Assist with transcript evaluations, including reviewing incoming transcripts for accuracy, transfer credit applicability, and alignment with program requirements.
- Support records management through document imaging and workflow processes using Perceptive Content.
- Assist with academic advising tables.
- Assist with registration events, and student onboarding processes.
Student Affairs Liaison
- Serve as the primary contact within Student Affairs for bookstore-related inquiries and issue resolution.
- Coordinate communication between students and Academic Affairs to ensure timely access to course materials.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and support at-risk students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Catalog and Curriculum Support
- Assist with updates and maintenance of the college catalog, ensuring accuracy of program, course, and policy information.
- Collaborate with academic departments to incorporate approved changes in a timely manner.
Technology and Systems Leadership
- Serve as the institutional lead for EAB Navigate.
- Train faculty and staff on system functionality and best practices for EAB Navigate.
- Utilize data and analytics to support student success initiatives and inform decision-making.
- Assist as backup for security reviews
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of community college operations, student services, and enrollment management practices.
- Understanding of student recruitment, retention strategies, and student success initiatives.
- Familiarity with academic advising principles, degree requirements, and transfer credit evaluation processes.
- Knowledge of student information systems, data integrity practices, and reporting requirements, including the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Working knowledge of document management systems such as Perceptive Content and student success platforms such as EAB Navigate.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Attention to detail, particularly in reviewing records, resolving errors, and conducting transcript evaluations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with students, faculty, and staff.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement solutions related to student records and processes.
- Proficiency in standard office software and data systems, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
