The Student Services Manager of Conduct and Compliance oversees student conduct, non-instructional grievance, and investigative processes, including matters related to the College Student Code of Conduct and Title IX. This position supports students, faculty, staff, and administrators in maintaining a safe, respectful, and caring campus environment that promotes teaching and learning.
Key responsibilities include conducting investigations, preparing reports, compiling and analyzing data, training faculty and staff, chairing the campus Behavior Intervention Team (BIT), and collaborating with departments across the college. The position also chairs the campus Compliance Committee, which provides recommendations and supports oversight of college activities related to Title IV, Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, ADA, HEOA, HLC, Veterans Services, FERPA, OSHA, campus safety, and other MCCCD, state, and federal compliance requirements.
Essential Functions
50% - Student Conduct, Grievances, Investigations, and Behavioral Intervention
Chairs the campus Behavior Intervention Team and provides leadership in triaging and responding to student conduct concerns, behavioral concerns, non-instructional grievances, and other reported violations of College or District policy. Conducts investigations, including Title IX investigations as assigned, and ensures cases are reviewed, documented, and adjudicated in a timely, consistent, and equitable manner. Monitors completion of sanctions and follow-up actions related to the student conduct process. Collaborates with Campus Police, faculty, staff, administrators, and other college partners to support effective resolution of concerns, promote campus safety, and foster a respectful, caring, and supportive learning environment.
15% - Compliance Coordination and Committee Leadership
Chairs the campus Compliance Committee and supports college-wide coordination, review, and recommendations related to institutional compliance responsibilities, including Title IV, Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, ADA, HEOA, HLC, Veterans Services, FERPA, OSHA, campus safety, and other MCCCD, state, and federal compliance requirements. Collaborates with college departments to identify compliance needs, support consistent processes, review trends or concerns, and promote timely communication and follow-up on compliance-related matters.
15% - Training, Communication, and Campus Education
Plans, develops, maintains, and delivers resource materials, trainings, presentations, reports, and correspondence related to student conduct, behavioral intervention, grievance processes, Title IX, compliance responsibilities, and campus safety. Provides training and consultation to students, faculty, and staff regarding the student conduct process, reporting responsibilities, classroom management concerns, and responding to distressed, disruptive, or threatening student behavior.
10% - Case Management, Data, Reporting, and Records
Maintains a comprehensive conduct and case management database; ensures accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of conduct, grievance, BIT, Title IX, and compliance-related matters. Compiles and analyzes data, prepares reports, identifies trends in conduct and grievance matters, and uses data to recommend improvements that support student success, campus safety, compliance, and effective institutional practices.
10% - Student Affairs and College Service
Supports Student Affairs initiatives, attends meetings, serves on college and District committees, participates in professional development, and performs other duties as assigned.
