The Embedded Advisor serves as a trusted guide, advocate, and brand ambassador for Mesa Community College (MCC) working both within partner high schools and on the MCC campus to strengthen the college-going pipeline. This dynamic student-centered role is designed to support seamless transitions from high school to college by recruiting, advising, onboarding, and supporting students through early college and postsecondary pathways.

With goals to increase early college engagement, postsecondary enrollment, and milestone completion, leading to student success, the Embedded Advisor builds meaningful relationships with students, families, counselors, and educators while maintaining a strong presence on the college campus to support enrollment, engagement, and student success goals.

The Embedded Advisor recruits students into early college opportunities, including Dual Enrollment, Achieving a College Education (ACE), and Hoop of Learning (HOL), and supports students throughout their entire early college journey from initial outreach and onboarding through successful participation and completion of program milestones.

In addition, the Embedded Advisor actively recruits students into postsecondary programs at MCC and serves as a one-stop support resource guiding them through admissions applications, FAFSA completion, orientation, registration, academic planning, and first-term enrollment.

By providing high-touch, personalized support, the advisor ensures students are prepared, confident, and connected as they begin their college experience. As a visible ambassador for MCC, the Embedded Advisor leads outreach and recruitment initiatives, represents the college at events and in the community, hosts campus tours, workshops, and programming, and engages students and families through phone calls, text messaging, and in-person, virtual, and digital platforms.

The advisor collaborates closely with high school partners, campus departments, and community organizations to expand access, promote opportunity, and drive enrollment growth. The Embedded Advisor leverages technology, CRM systems, and student information platforms to track outreach, monitor student progress, showcase impact, and support institutional recruitment and retention goals.

This role blends advising, recruitment, relationship-building, and case management to create a holistic student-focused experience from high school through college success.

Work Schedule

During the academic year, the Embedded Advisor will split time between assigned high schools, approximately 60 percent, and the Mesa Community College campus, approximately 40 percent. During summer and academic breaks, the position will be fully based on the MCC campus to support student services and enrollment operations.
