Title:Student Advancement Coach

Reports to: Principal

Terms of Employment: 10 Months

Salary: Pay Grade 59

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Student Advancement Coach (SAC) provides leadership in the development of a program of services for students seeking both credit recovery and credit advancement by way of a number of virtual learning experiences and will provide supervision as a virtual learning lab facilitator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise the school's use of Education 2020 for credit recovery, and NCVPS for credit recovery and credit accrual, as well as other online courses opportunities for credit
  • Serve at the school level with the Student Support Management Team - an outreach team which seeks to develop more positive communications with parents while developing academic interventions for students - and at the district level as a member of the District Professional Learning Community (PLC) Student Advancement Team.
  • Facilitate and supervise Credit Recovery Labs during the regular school day
  • Supervise students enrolled in curriculum lab (Virtual Learning Lab) for credit recovery and other extended learning opportunities
  • Provide instructional assistance to lab students on as need basis
  • Direct students to other resources for needed assistance
  • Provide support and assistance to school staff on use and functions of Education 2020, NCVPS, and other curriculum and instructional innovations
  • Provide distance learning support for students accessing the school's VLL from off campus

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs other related work as required

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Non Certified position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and /or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
