- Proven experience performing structural welding and fabrication in a production-style shop environment.
- Ability to pass a weld test.
- Experience using torches for cutting and coping.
- Forklift operation experience or certification.
- Familiarity with tools such as iron workers, mag drills, press brakes, shears, band saws, plasma table and coping bots.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and architectural drawings.
- Commitment to safety protocols, with understanding of OSHA requirements.
- Strong attendance record; ability to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
- Positive attitude, ability to take direction, and alignment with core values (integrity, trust, discipline, sense of urgency, accountability).
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification (e.g., AWS D1.1) preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing; subject to random, post-accident, or reasonable suspicion testing.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing setting.
- Perform structural welding in a shop setting, including fitting, tacking, and full welding as specified in architectural drawings, maintaining tolerances of 1/16 inch.
- Use torches to cut and cope materials accurately when necessary.
- Operate forklifts safely to transport materials and products.
- Dress welds to resolve imperfections (buckshot, arc marks, unwanted slices, factory coatings).
- Conduct self-verification of fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and quantity before referring to the Quality Control Verification Team.
- Participate in daily safety information training meetings, weekly toolbox talks, and quality reviews to achieve zero safety incidents and 100% training completion.
- Adhere to PPE requirements (hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, safety harnesses) and report hazards, near-misses, or incidents immediately.
- Implement "The Algorithm" to question processes, eliminate unnecessary steps, simplify operations, accelerate cycle times, and solve bottlenecks for continuous improvement.
- Maintain housekeeping, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards during all tasks.
- Contribute to key performance indicators, including labor hours per ton of steel and deliveries per week.
- Take direction effectively, demonstrate a positive attitude, and uphold core values in all interactions.
