Position Summary
COMPANY is seeking a Structural Staff Engineering Technician to support overhead transmission line and grid infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing and modifying transmission models, drawings, and technical deliverables using PLS-CADD and other engineering design tools while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Must have overhead transmission line design experience
- Must have PLS-CADD experience
- Diploma or Certificate required
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Ability to work onsite 5 days/week
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify engineering drawings, models, and technical deliverables.
- Create and maintain transmission line designs using PLS-CADD.
- Apply engineering standards, codes, and established design practices.
- Perform design calculations, material takeoffs, estimates, and documentation.
- Review design inputs and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering and design teams to support project execution.
- Provide technical guidance to other technicians and engineering professionals.
- Support continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and field activities as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Strong overhead transmission design background
- Experience with BIM, 3D modeling, and engineering design software
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and quality processes
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
