Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a detail-oriented Structural Revit Technician to support the development of high-quality structural construction documents and BIM models for a wide range of building projects. You will work closely with structural engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to translate design concepts into accurate, coordinated Revit models and drawing sets. The position is ideal for someone who is technically strong in Revit, highly organized, and enjoys collaborating on technically complex projects that align with client goals and project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain structural Revit models for building projects from schematic design through construction documents.
  • Produce structural drawings, including plans, sections, details, schedules, and sheets, in accordance with established standards and project requirements.
  • Partner with structural engineers, architects, MEP teams, and other disciplines to ensure coordination across all project documents.
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of construction documents for new construction, renovations, and facility improvements.
  • Incorporate engineer markups, redlines, and design changes into Revit models and drawing sets accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and help resolve model coordination issues, drawing inconsistencies, and constructability concerns.
  • Maintain file organization, BIM standards, naming conventions, and documentation quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project teams during internal reviews, coordination meetings, and document submissions.
  • Participate in quality control efforts to ensure deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Assist in developing and refining structural BIM standards, families, templates, and workflows as needed.
  • Collaborate actively in a multidisciplinary design environment to deliver creative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and best practices in BIM and structural documentation.

Essential Skills

  • Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in Architectural Technology, Drafting, CAD/BIM Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a drafting, BIM, or Revit technician role supporting structural or building design projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with the ability to step directly into production for structural design and renderings.
  • Working knowledge of structural drafting standards, construction documentation, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural plans, details, and engineering sketches.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines in a building design environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, organized work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to respond well to direction, feedback, and changing project priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Solid understanding of BIM-based workflows for structural projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting structural engineering teams in an architecture and engineering consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or other design and coordination tools.
  • Exposure to healthcare, federal, civic, workplace, or institutional building projects.
  • Understanding of BIM coordination workflows and clash detection processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and construction documentation best practices.
  • Interest in sustainable design and experience contributing to sustainable project solutions.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development opportunities provided by the firm.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open-office environment with frequent interaction across disciplines.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic, energetic, and fast-paced architecture and engineering office that emphasizes collaboration, sustainability, and professional growth. The firm is a multidisciplinary practice offering architecture, interior design, sustainability consulting and design, civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and related services. Typical projects include healthcare, government, housing, federal, education, and other community-focused facilities, with a strong emphasis on highly technical work and a robust pipeline in the healthcare field.
