Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high‑rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day.Job SummaryOur office in San Diego, CA is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to perform building design and evaluation in industries such as Life Sciences, Data Center, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed‑use, and Healthcare.The Structural Project Engineer serves to participate in the development of structural drawings while applying building code provisions and interpreting material design standards.In This Role, You WillManage structural engineering tasksDevelop structural drawings, Revit models and reportsUtilize design software such as RISA, Enercalc, RAM, Bluebeam, and REVIT to produce construction drawingsApply building code provisions and interpret material design standardsMaintain awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s)Review completed tasks at key intervals for accuracy and completenessPerform administration tasks during the construction of a project as assigned by senior engineering staff including submittal review and responses to field questionsCommunicate with other disciplines and project team members to ensure overall project coordinationParticipate in team and company‑wide meetings to discuss project issues, coordination with other disciplines and technical issuesFoster awareness of the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business developmentBe responsible for the production of engineering documents such as reports, calculations, and drawings that are complete and technically accurateSupervise and mentor Staff Engineers and CAD staffHandle interactions with the client regarding technical design issues, coordination of document preparation, and submittal schedulesTrack project costs and meet contractual obligations within the stated terms with an emphasis on efficiencyYou Will Be a Great Fit IfYou have 5-10+ years of related experience in building designYou demonstrate strong interest in sustainability in the construction industryYou have an accredited BS or MS degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering/ BS degree in Civil Engineering with completion of relevant coursework in Structural EngineeringYou have a PE licenseStructural license in State of California preferredYou have experience with Revit and other engineering software such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, or othersExperience with Steel, Concrete, and Wood‑framed designExperience with Building Information Modeling.Experience with Building Structure design.Experience with high seismic (SDC D, E or F), high wind, and/or blast‑resistant design a plusSkills/abilitiesProficiency in MS Office SuiteAbility to evaluate structural systems and members using both calculator methods and structural analytical softwareAbility to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutionsAbility to work in team environmentAbility to work on multiple projects at the same timeAbility to effectively meet deadlines at expected qualityTravel to out-of-town projects or meetings may be required.Travel10% NationalThe expected base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $140,000 USD per year.
