JOB TITLE: Structural & Payload Design Engineer 3
LOCATION: Renton, WA
PAY RATE: $75.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Support airframe structural design activities for commercial aircraft production programs.

  • Develop, modify, and maintain structural design solutions for aircraft components and assemblies.

  • Create and revise 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation using CATIA V5.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to support design implementation and issue resolution.

  • Analyze and resolve structural design challenges in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Apply engineering principles and best practices to support airframe design, manufacturability, and production requirements.

  • Utilize engineering systems and tools such as DCCS, ETAC, and PDM for documentation and configuration management.

  • Communicate technical findings, design updates, and solutions clearly to stakeholders and team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Science.

  • 8+ years of related experience in structural design engineering.

  • Experience with CATIA V5 and aerospace structural design tools/processes.

  • Previous experience supporting commercial aircraft structures programs, preferably narrow-body aircraft platforms.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

  • Self-starter with the ability to identify needs and execute work with minimal direction.

  • Ability to develop technical solutions for a broad range of structural design challenges.

  • Familiarity with engineering/documentation systems such as DCCS, ETAC, and PDM.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
