Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid/On-site) Job Type: Full-Time
Build the Backbone of Innovation
Are you a Structural Engineer who loves the "build" side of Design-Build? We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural integrity of complex mechanical, HVAC, and piping systems. In this role, you won’t just be crunching numbers in a vacuum—you’ll be the bridge between conceptual engineering and real-world construction, ensuring that massive mechanical infrastructures are safe, compliant, and built to last.

What You’ll Do
As a technical leader on our Design-Build team, you will independently manage structural services from initial concept through project handover.

  • Design & Analyze: Create structural solutions for mechanical equipment anchorage, seismic restraints (duct/pipe), roof-mounted supports, and supplemental steel framing.

  • Verify & Retrofit: Assess existing building structures to ensure they can handle new equipment loads or retrofitted systems.

  • Certify: Prepare structural calculations and PE-stamped installation packages, including bills of material.

  • Collaborate: Work side-by-side with Project Managers, VDC/BIM teams, and field crews to resolve real-time installation challenges.

  • Mentor: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, helping grow the department’s overall structural capabilities.

What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a seasoned pro who understands how buildings move and how mechanical systems stay put.

  • Education: BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.

  • Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.

  • Experience: 8+ years in structural design, specifically supporting mechanical systems, piping, or heavy building infrastructure.

  • Technical Mastery: * Deep knowledge of seismic restraint systems and equipment anchorage.

    • Expertise in current building codes and structural standards.

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or 3D modeling software for design packages.

  • Soft Skills: You are a clear communicator who can translate complex structural needs to field teams and stakeholders alike.

Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your expertise directly impacts the skyline. We value engineers who are independent enough to run a project but collaborative enough to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team.
