The position will be based in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices.Position SummaryThe responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:Work effectively in hybrid work environment.Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.Supervise other engineers, designer, and technicians.Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting.Actively participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings.Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.Direct and review project drafting.Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFI's and submittals.Meet client objectives and exceed their expectations.Contribute to business development.Prepare written technical reports.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program6 years of prior structural engineering experience including concrete and steel designProfessional Engineer licensure and the ability to become licensed in additional states upon requestExperienced with industry, building, and design codesValid driver's license with ability to travel domestically, intermittentlyFamiliarity with AutoCAD and/or RevitDemonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAADAbility to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions.Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPreferred QualificationsPassed 16-hour Structural Engineering (SE) ExamExperienced using AutoCAD and/or RevitPossess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skillsExperience with pipeline, power delivery, mining, pulp and paper, and/or other industrial workVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities.MSHA CertificationAttention to detail, quality, and accuracyAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to work independentlyGood oral and written communication skills, including technical writing abilitySalary RangeThis position's anticipated base salary range is $73,350-$102,900 annually (This position is eligible for yearend & profit-sharing bonuses) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.Paid HolidaysPaid Time OffMedical and DentalHSA/FSA (Medical, Dependent Care, Parking Transportation)Basic Life and AD&D401(k) with Company MatchEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee-Owned Company/Opportunities to become a ShareholderResumePosition Closing Date: May 9, 2025About LHBFounded in Duluth in 1966, LHB is a multi-disciplinary engineering, architecture, and planning firm known for our design leadership and loyalty to clients.
