Our work covers most commercial building types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, mixed use, and hotel/hospitality.We are currently accepting applications for an Structural Engineer at an Associate level to join our team in Denver, CO . Our expected starting annual salary range is $100,000 -$125,000 , plus discretionary bonuses. This role is on a hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office each week, local and regional travel to sites as needed, and work from home.Position DescriptionAct as technical team member and small project lead for our clients' commercial structures - Our work covers most commercial building types, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hotel/hospitality.Collaborate with the client, internal team, consultants, and site contact, and is responsible for an overall understanding of their project(s)Review and assess existing building construction and conditionReview and analyze contract documents including calculations, drawings, and specificationsPerform seismic risk and property condition assessmentsPrepare and present detailed formal reportsQualifications, Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in architectural engineering, civil engineering, or structural engineering, Licensed as a professional engineer, ideally with SE credentialSeven to twelve (7-12) years of industry-related experience at a structural engineering consulting firmTechnical level of understanding of building types, building codes, and seismic lateral force-resisting systems in order to perform services of the organization with limited supervisionUnderstanding of hazardous building types/features and site seismic hazardsGood understanding of Construction processes and activitiesGood understanding of building materials and methodsAbility to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and ExcelProficient in Revit, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, MS Suite and BoxStrong organizational skillsDemonstrated leadership and project management successesAbility to communicate in a professional manner, remain organized, and multitaskDecision-making and problem-solving experience in a technical roleProficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid and BoxPhysical RequirementsCandidates should have the ability to:Operate a computer (keyboarding) and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier/scanner/printerUse visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screensMove through construction and existing building sites over rough terrainSee and respond to dangerous situationsRespond quickly to soundsAscend and descend ladders and stairsMove safely through confined spaces and narrow pathsWork in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areasTravel approximately 25-50% of the time both locally and regionallyMarx Okubo is a privately held Employee Stock Ownership Plan firm; employee-owned, we offer internal growth, continuing education, mentor/mentee opportunities, as well as 100% paid health insurance premiums for employee, up to a 30% match on your 401(k) contributions , and competitive compensation.
