Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Structural Engineering Lead serves as the technical authority and discipline lead for all Structural engineering matters across Client's portfolio.
This role provides strategic oversight, governance, and leadership for Structural engineering activities across capital projects, campus expansions, site modifications, inspections, and operational asset management. The Lead ensures technical excellence, standardization, risk mitigation, and long-term asset integrity across all regions.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (Master's preferred), with Chartered/Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng. or PE required).
- 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, preferably within industrial sites, infrastructure, energy, utilities, or heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience acting as discipline lead or owner's engineer on complex capital projects.
- Proven experience reviewing and approving designs prepared by external engineering firms and EPC contractors.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis principles, geotechnical coordination, drainage design, and industrial foundation systems.
- Experience developing engineering standards, technical specifications, and governance processes.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Canadian and US codes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading technical risk assessments and advising senior stakeholders on engineering decisions.
- Familiarity with structural inspection techniques, asset condition assessment methodologies, and lifecycle planning.
- Working knowledge of CAD and BIM models for interpretation and review (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership capability, sound technical judgment, and ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Job Responsibilities: - Act as the Structural discipline lead and technical authority across all data center capital projects, site expansions, modifications, and operational assets.
- Manage directly or functionally a team of senior, intermediate and junior Structural, Architectural and/ or Civil engineers
- Establish and maintain Structural engineering standards, specifications, and design criteria to ensure consistency across all campuses.
- Provide final technical review and approval of Structural engineering deliverables prepared by external engineering consultants or EPC contractors.
- Provide owner's engineering leadership for capital projects and site upgrades, ensuring constructability, maintainability, scalability, and long-term asset integrity.
- Lead design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical evaluations for large-scale site structural elements, including their relationship with other disciplines like Civil, Architectural and Piping.
- Oversee structural engineering for building structures, equipment support structures, roof-supported equipment, and on-slab equipment foundations, ensuring appropriate loading conditions and lifecycle performance.
- Evaluate structural design calculations, load assessments, drawings, specifications, and engineering reports for compliance with applicable codes, company standards, and operational requirements.
- Ensure all civil/structural designs meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and site-specific constraints across jurisdictions.
- Lead resolution of complex technical queries, deviations, and non-conformances arising during design, construction, or operational phases.
- Provide oversight of contractor work packages, construction methodologies, and quality documentation to ensure alignment with approved designs and company standards.
- Conduct strategic site visits to validate design intent, quality execution, and adherence to approved standards.
- Serve as the primary civil/structural interface between Engineering, Project Development, Construction, Operations, and external consultants.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to internal engineering team members and support capability development within the discipline.
- Ensure accurate as-built documentation, structural records, and asset data are maintained in alignment with asset management requirements.
