Title:STRUCTURAL ENGINEER III

Location: Vandalia, OH

Pay Rate: $60.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Duration: Contract

Contribute to the design, analysis, evaluation, and certification of advanced aerospace systems ranging from mission-critical payloads to integrated aircraft and space exploration platforms. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative structural solutions utilizing both metallic and composite materials. Ideal candidates bring strong engineering intuition validated by classical calculations and computer-aided engineering tools.

Description – Structural Engineer III:

  • Perform structural design, analysis, evaluation, and certification activities for complex aerospace systems and components.

  • Analyze metallic and composite structures to ensure compliance with strict engineering requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct detailed static strength analyses and develop classical hand calculations to validate structural integrity.

  • Support product development efforts through structured assessments, trade studies, and technical engineering recommendations.

  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation, structural assessments, and substantiation reports.

  • Participate actively in design reviews and provide technical guidance on complex structural engineering matters.

Qualifications – Structural Engineer III:

  • 6+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, ideally within the Aerospace and Defense sector.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and experience performing static strength analysis.

  • Proficiency with classical structural analysis and industry-standard hand calculation methods.

  • Solid understanding of core engineering principles, structural mechanics, and design practices.

  • Preferred experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.

  • Familiarity with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, mechanical design principles, liaison engineering, or aircraft modification and sustainment is a plus.
