About the Opportunity
We are looking for an innovative and detail-driven Structural Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering design, BIM technology, and advanced manufacturing. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about industrialized construction, Light Gauge Steel (CFS) framing systems, and leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to transform concepts into fabrication-ready solutions.
As a key member of our team, you will bridge the gap between architectural BIM models and manufacturing execution, utilizing Autodesk Revit and Vertex BD to create intelligent, code-compliant structural models that seamlessly translate into production-ready outputs and roll-forming data. You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, manufacturing teams, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative, efficient, and highly constructible building solutions.

What You'll Do
BIM Modeling & Digital Design
  • Create intelligent 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit and Vertex BD based on architectural concepts, project requirements, constructability considerations, and cost objectives.
  • Transform conceptual designs into highly detailed and fabrication-ready BIM models.
  • Produce coordinated structural drawings, shop drawings, and BIM deliverables with exceptional accuracy and quality.
  • Work closely with architects, clients, fabricators, installers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Automated Framing & Industrialized Construction
  • Utilize Vertex BD to generate automated floor, wall, and roof framing systems for Cold Formed Steel (CFS) and timber structures.
  • Develop panelization layouts and manufacturing drawings optimized for off-site and industrialized construction processes.
  • Drive efficiency through automation and digital workflows that streamline production and installation.
Structural Engineering & Analysis
  • Perform structural calculations for gravity, lateral, wind, and serviceability loads.
  • Analyze CFS framing systems, wall panels, trusses, and structural assemblies using integrated engineering platforms.
  • Optimize designs for safety, performance, constructability, and cost efficiency while ensuring code compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with architects, MEP consultants, manufacturers, installers, finance teams, and customers to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate structural BIM models with architectural and MEP disciplines to identify and resolve design clashes proactively.
  • Participate in BIM coordination sessions and collaborative project reviews throughout the design lifecycle.
Manufacturing & Digital Fabrication
  • Generate fabrication-ready outputs, including CSV files for automated roll-forming equipment and manufacturing machinery.
  • Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and fabrication datasets supporting procurement and production teams.
  • Serve as a critical link between engineering and manufacturing, ensuring designs transition smoothly into production.
  • Support and engage with fabrication and roll-forming operations as required.
Quality, Compliance & Best Practices
  • Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and engineering requirements.
  • Maintain BIM standards, modeling conventions, and quality-control processes.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of models, drawings, fabrication outputs, and manufacturing files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability.

What We're Looking For
Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience in BIM-driven structural engineering and modern industrialized construction methods.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Cold Formed Steel (CFS) framing systems.
  • Proficiency with Vertex BD, Autodesk Revit, and related BIM technologies.
  • Familiarity with SketchUp, Fram eBuilder, or similar modeling tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting projects from concept development through fabrication and production.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
OR
  • Three-year CAD Design qualification with 5–7 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Advanced degrees are welcomed but not required.

Preferred Experience
  • 3–7 years of structural engineering experience with a strong BIM focus.
  • Expertise in CFS framing and industrialized construction methodologies.
  • Experience with modular, panelized, prefabricated, or off-site construction.
  • Exposure to startup, scale-up, or innovation-driven environments.
  • Experience navigating evolving project requirements and rapid design iterations.
  • Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience with architects, MEP engineers, fabrication teams, and construction stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*:  $47.00 - $51.15 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
