HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Omaha, NE.In this role, you will:Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and sizes, and complete necessary calculations.Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases.Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule during design development and construction phases.Assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information, change proposal requests, and change orders, incorporating agreed changes.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis.A minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board in the location of the position (PE or P.Eng).Previous structural engineer experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software.Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.A commitment to actively participate in an employee‑owned culture.Primary Location: United States – Nebraska – OmahaOther Locations: United States – Iowa – Des Moines; United States – Nebraska – LincolnIndustry: Building EngineeringSchedule: Full‑timeEmployee Status: RegularBusiness Class: Building StructuralJob Posting Date: May 20, 2026At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
